Watch everyone’s favourite flying boy as he wings his way to Canal Walk Theatre this winter.
A special treat is in store for Capetonians, as the much- loved story of Peter Pan will be shown on stage at the Canal Walk Winter Theatre this winter, marking a welcome return of the centre’s annual children’s theatre run.
Audiences can expect appearances from a series of lovable Never Land characters that include mysterious mermaids from Mermaid Lagoon; the beautiful Princess Tiger Lilly and her brave, Panther; the high-spirited Lost Boys and Hook’s band of pirates aboard the Jolly Roger; and of course, the crocodile whose taste for time pieces (clocks and watches) is now legendary. Also joining the cast will be a gathering of life-sized puppets, which add yet another fun dimension to this spectacular performance.
Director Fred Abrahamse says,
“Many young teenagers acknowledge one or other Canal Walk productions as their first ever theatre piece, awakening in them a love for theatre. Creativity and imagination are pivotal to any career choice a young person may make, and this needs to be encouraged and nourished in children from an early age. In this digital age, exposure to the arts and literature is pivotal in nurturing an enquiring mind.
Canal Walk supports the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC) during this 2022 production of the stage show and R5 of every ticket sold will be donated.
