July 13, 2016The Homeless World Cup
The Homeless World Cup has begun! Since 2001, the Homeless World Cup and its partners have spread their wings to create a global organization that is comprised of 70 countries, and counting. This distinctive social program’s co-founder and president has said, “My message to people always is: Do small things. If we all do something small, we’ll change the world,” and that is what The Homeless World Cup is doing, through the use of the collective game of football.
Last year, South Africa’s team finished in an impressive 5th place, and their goal this year is to build off of their previous achievements. Their impressive team, comprised of both men and women are ranked 16th this year for the tournament held in Glasgow.
Off to a good start, the SA team won 4-3 against Denmark and will continue to play throughout the week in hopes of continuing their success.
