6 Million steps in the right direction
South African Peter Dunn has embarked on a five-month long journey to raise awareness and money for the Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa (CHOC). We find out why.
The journey of six million steps starts with a plan, months of preparation and the will to see it through. South African Peter Dunn has his sights set on completing the Pacific Coast Trail (PCT) from a town called Campo on the USA’s Mexican border, through California, Oregon and Washington, and finally ending at Manning Park in British Columbia, Canada.

His hike will cover 4 264km over 150 days, through seven national parks, 60 major mountain passes, 19 canyons, and a 57km stretch with no water. It will see him taking six million steps and walking his way through five pairs of shoes.
