Brought to you by the Open Book Festival, the well-known Comics Fest is happening on 10 and 11 September at the D6 Homecoming Centre and surrounding venues in Cape Town. With an incredible variety of artists and an array of activities for all ages, the Comics Fest Marketplace will be bustling with discussion and creativity.
From story time for kids hosted by guest authors in the Festival Kidzone and a doodle wall to unleash your inner illustrator, to zine creation with comic book creator Indira Neville (New Zealand) and live drawing demos, Comics Fest has got it all. “There’s an incredible range of artists taking part this year and we are excited about the events that are on offer,” says Festival Coordinator Frankie Murrey. “Comics Fest is fun for all the family and the bustling Marketplace is a platform for industry people to connect, engage and hopefully kick-start future opportunities.”
All of the events on the Comics Fest programme are free, but for the specific workshops and discussion you will need to book through Webtickets.
