The Big Issue can be purchased from vendors in the suburbs of Cape Town, or from select Spar or Pick n Pay stores nationally.

Name: Zukiswa Piti.
Vendor number: 2051.
Find her at: the robots at Alphen and Constantia Main roads.
About: Zukiswa is from Philippi and has three children. She’s been selling The Big Issue since 2018. Before becoming a vendor, she earned a living as a cleaner. She loves watching TV and sewing.
Dream: Zukiswa would love to start her own shisanyama business, braaiing meat and selling it for profit.
Wish list: job opportunities such as domestic work.

Name: Vusumzi Dyantyi.
Vendor number: 1122.
Find him at: the robots at Alphen and Constantia Main roads.
About: Vusumzi is 54 years old, lives in Philippi and has two children. He has sold The Big Issue for 22 years. He loves listening to music and is a big fan of reggae. Vusumzi enjoys interacting with his customers at his pitch; he’s also a keen handyman.
Dream: to have his own house because he is currently staying at the back of his family’s home.
Wish list: Vusumzi would like to attend a professional course to become a carpenter.

Name: Zamikhaya France.

About: Zamikhaya has sold The Big Issue since 2012. He has four children and lives in Gugulethu. He enjoys acting and is an entertainer and a comedian.
Dream: he would like to perform professionaly and work as a truck driver.
Wish list: assistance with obtaining his Code 14 driver’s licence.
