Pigcasso was destined to become the fi lling in a bacon sandwich until Joanne Lefson stepped in …
You rescued Picgasso?
Back in May 2016 I went to a local hog farm, an industrialised cement facility that is really disgusting. She was tiny and could fi t into a shoebox. She now weighs almost a ton.
How did she start painting?
Pigs are very smart and need to be kept entertained. Using positive re-inforcement it wasn’t long before she was brushing paint across canvases with a customised brush I had made for her. She dips her nose into a beetroot-acrylic mix and touches it to the canvas to sign it. Painting was entirely her own choice right from the start.
