I grew up in Cofimvaba near Queenstown. Growing up, I loved reading and playing soccer; I was a great midfielder. Although I only attended school until Grade 11, I always dreamed of becoming a teacher so that I could also help children learn. Unfortunately, I haven’t realised that dream.
Our vendor on the pitch, Mzwanele Ntabankulu, 32, sells The Big Issue in Campground Road, Rondebosch. He shares his hopes for himself and his five-year-old son, Sinawo.
“I was born in Cape Town but my family relocated to the Eastern Cape when I was still a young child. I am one of seven children; we are four boys and three girls. When I was born, my parents named me Mzwanele, which means we have had enough boys, because I was the third boy.
