Chef Sizwe Stugela (29) applies a combination of natural ability and talent whenever he creates a meal in the kitchen. Known for his fine and creative dishes, Sizwe has come full circle at Olympia Café in Kalk Bay, where he’s the chef de cuisine (head chef). His journey in the hospitality industry began in 2007 when he was working part-time in the restaurant to pay his way through school.
“My love for the kitchen started way back when I was in Grade 10. I was employed as a general worker at Olympia Café during weekends and school holidays to earn a living, since both my parents passed on when I was very young. I lived with my older sister who coudn’t afford to pay for anything in the house,” he recalls.
