Six South African adventurers embarked on a mission to summit the world’s highest active volcano in an effort to raise awareness for The Unlimited Child, a non-profit skills development organisation focused on improvising access to early childhood development (ECD) in marginalised communities across South Africa.

The expedition took them to Ojos del Salado, the volcano that sits on the border between Argentina and Chile in South America, where they attempted to reach its peak of 6 893 metres. The conditions were harsh, the goal ambitious and the cause close to all of their hearts. More than 1 million South African children under the age of five, the most critical years in child development, do not have access to early childhood services
